I wanted to take a moment, post-APhA2025, to introduce myself to anyone who might not know me. It is the honor of a lifetime to serve as APhA’s president. I have spent my life preparing for this leadership role; as a co-owner and CEO of Towncrest Pharmacy Corporation, co-founder and co-owner of Innovative Pharmacy Solutions and professor of pharmacy management and innovation at Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy. 

WASHINGTON, DC (April 21, 2025) — The American Pharmacists Association announces the release of Recommendations for Health Plans and Pharmacists to Advance Coverage for Pharmacists’ Services in the Medical Benefit. The recommendations are designed to improve patients’ access to care and health outcomes by expanding coverage for pharmacists’ patient care services under health plans’ medical benefits.

On November 15, DEA announced the extension of current telemedicine flexibilities for prescription-controlled medications through the end of 2025. This includes substances such as buprenorphine and Adderall.

Resting heart rate was associated with an increased risk of new-onset AFib for Black adults, according to a recent study published in JAMA Network Open.
