In all, 40% of the respondents said they expect this season to be about as severe as last year's, while 12% expect this year will be worse.

Still, about a third of those surveyed said they had not been vaccinated against influenza in the past 3 years, with about 39% of those individuals saying they thought the vaccine was not effective. Additionally, about 37% of the respondents said they had gone to work while sick with influenza.
