WASHINGTON, DC—Today the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) announced the election of Randy P. McDonough, BS, PharmD, MS, BCGP, BCPS, RPh, of Iowa City, IA, as 2024–2025 APhA president-elect. McDonough will succeed Alex C. Varkey, PharmD, MS, FAPhA, of Sugar Land, TX, to the office of APhA president on March 24, 2025, at the conclusion of the 2025 APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition in Nashville, TN.
Also elected to serve a 3-year term beginning in March 2024 on APhA’s Board of Trustees are Jeffrey Neigh, PharmD, MBA, MHA, BCPS, of Laredo, TX, and Melissa Somma McGivney, PharmD, FCCP, FAPhA, of Pittsburgh, PA. Richard J. Bertin, PhD, RADM, USPHS (Ret.), of Brookeville, MD, was elected as the 2024–2025 honorary president. All officers will be installed at the 171st APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition in Orlando, FL, March 22–25, 2024.
