Pharmacy Orgs Cheer Eighth Circuit Decision Supporting State PBM Regs

WASHINGTON, DC – Pharmacy organizations are applauding a decision by the Eighth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals today that supports North Dakota's right to regulate pharmacy benefit managers. The case, Pharmaceutical Care Management Association v. Wehbi, is the first to consider at the federal appellate level the scope of the U.S. Supreme Court's unanimous decision last year in Rutledge v. PCMA, which upheld an Arkansas state law regulating the abusive practices of PBMs.

Peter H. Vlasses to Receive Remington Honor Medal, Highest Honor in Pharmacy

WASHINGTON, DC – Peter Harris Vlasses, PharmD, DSc (Hon), FCCP, of Glen Ellyn, IL, was today announced as the recipient of the 2022 Remington Honor Medal, the highest honor bestowed by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). Vlasses has served in many roles throughout his accomplished career and is currently the Executive Director Emeritus of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) following his 20-year term as the ACPE Executive Director.
