American Pharmacists Association and Board of Pharmacy Specialties initiates recruitment for new executive director

Washington DCFollowing the retirement of William Ellis, MS, RPh, ICE–CCP, after a distinguished 14-year tenure as executive director of the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS), the American Pharmacists Association and its autonomous division of BPS announces that the search for a permanent executive director has commenced. The search will be led by a search committee consisting of BPS board members.

The role of executive director at BPS is a pivotal leadership position, responsible for advancing the mission of the organization and guiding its strategic direction. This role involves collaborating with pharmacy leaders, health care organizations, and policymakers to expand the impact of board certification in enhancing patient care. The executive director will oversee all aspects of BPS operations, including certification program development, stakeholder engagement, financial management, and organizational growth.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pharmacy practice, leadership experience in professional organizations, and a commitment to enhancing patient care through specialized certification.
