WASHINGTON, DC — Today the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) is pleased to announce Mark Pilkington, BPharm, MS, as the executive director of Pharmacy Profiles, LLC. Pharmacy Profiles is wholly owned by APhA and was launched in 2017 as the first single-source repository of the nation’s pharmacist providers. Pharmacy Profiles provides a seamless process for credentialing of pharmacists and other pharmacy personnel.
“Mark brings a wealth of experience in both managed care and start-up corporate executive leadership to the table,” said Michael D. Hogue, PharmD, FAPhA, FNAP, FFIP, APhA’s CEO and executive vice president. “We are fortunate to have someone with his insights and connections within the payor and corporate marketplace to ensure the groundwork is in place for routine payment of pharmacist care services through traditional medical models of billing.”

Pilkington comes to Pharmacy Profiles following two decades of managed care leadership with AmerisourceBergen (now Cencora) and Cardinal Health; and through the launch of ClaritasPSM, a new generation PBM started by pharmacists focused on patient care. Before working in managed care, Pilkington was the Illinois Pharmacists Association Executive Director. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Chicago, with both his bachelor of science in Pharmacy and master of science in Pharmacy Administration.
